Questions
What do I get?
Two complete eulogy drafts, one quieter and more reflective and one warmer, each timed to the length you chose, with gentle notes on where to pause. A matching obituary for the funeral home, newspaper or online memorial. One free rewrite of any of the three with your own notes, and a large-print reading copy to print and hold. It all costs $29, paid once.
Who writes it?
Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, writes the drafts from your answers. It follows a eulogy writer's approach: an opening that says who you are to them, real stories that show who they were, what they gave the people in the room, and a goodbye.
It never makes anything up. Every story, saying and fact comes from you. Where the obituary needs a fact you didn't give us, such as a date or the funeral home's name, it leaves a placeholder in [brackets] for you to fill in.
How long does it take?
The questions take about 15 minutes, and only a few are required. Bullet points are fine. After you pay, your drafts are usually ready in about a minute. A rewrite takes about the same.
What if I can't think of much to say?
That's normal, especially right now. Give us what you have. The questions are there to help memories come back. If there isn't much, we'll write a shorter, sincere eulogy rather than pad it, and the note at the top of your page will suggest what you might add.
Can it mention their faith?
Yes, if you'd like. Choose how much faith to include, and tell us their tradition, church, or a favorite verse or prayer. We never assume a religion.
Will it mention how they died?
Only if you tell us and ask for it. Otherwise the eulogy and obituary say nothing about the cause of death. You can also list anything else to leave out.
Can I edit it?
Yes. Copy the text and change anything you like. You also get one free rewrite where you tell us what to change ("shorter", "add the story about the fishing trip", "less formal").
What if I don't like it?
Use your free rewrite first; most problems are fixed by a sentence of notes. If the drafts still miss, email admin@eulogybytonight.com within 14 days for a full refund. See the refund policy.
Is what I share private?
Your answers are used only to write your drafts. They're sent to Anthropic's API to write them and stored on our server so you can come back to your page; we delete them after 90 days. We don't publish or sell them. Payments are handled by Stripe, so we never see your card. Details are in the privacy policy.
